Great Pretender is an upcoming original Japanese anime television series produced by Wit Studio, directed by Hiro Kaburagi and written by Ryota Kosawa.

RELEASE DATE:

The series is scheduled to release on July 8, 2020 on Fuji TV's +Ultra anime programming block. Netflix will be airing the show world- wide. The first episode has been released on Anime expo 2019 with guest of honors and president of WIT studio George Wada in his presence.

PLOT:

Makoto Edamura is supposedly Japan's greatest deceiver. Together with his partner Kudo, they try to trick a Frenchman in Asakusa but unexpectedly get tricked instead. The Frenchman, whom they tried to deceive, turns out to be Laurent Thierry- a much higher-level confidence man, in control of the mafias. Edamura is yet to find out what fate awaits him, after having engaged in the Frenchman's dirty jobs.
